The Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers have completed a trade, with the Flyers picking up a prospect that the team has had its eye on for some time.
The Trade
The Flyers have traded the rights to David Kase to Carolina in exchange for prospect Massimo Rizzo and a 2025 5th round pick. According to Frank Seravalli, Philadelphia had been trying to get Rizzo in a trade for Tony DeAngelo, which eventually fell through.
Rizzo is a centre with the University of Denver, where he has shown considerable growth over the past two years. He was a 7th round pick of the Canes, 216th overall, in 2019.
Kase
Kase is the brother of NHLer Ondrej Kase. The 26 year old was drafted by Philly in the 5th round in 2015. Since then, he's played seven games in the NHL. He's spent the past two seasons playing at home in Czechia.
