Every game for the Flyers is critical at this point in the season. That is probably why John Tortorella was so upset yesterday when his team went down 4-0 ten minutes in. However, his actions have consequences.

Tortorella Suspended For Outburst Against Officials

The veteran head coach threw one of the biggest tantrums of his career yesterday after his team went down 4-0 against the Washington Capitals. He really laid into the referees, giving them a piece of his mind. It was so intense that he got a minor penalty for abuse of officials and they ejected him from the game. Initially, he refused to leave the bench.
His refusal to leave the bench following the ejection may have played a role in his punishment today. The league announced that he has been suspended for two games and fined 50000 dollars.

The Flyers would go on to lose the game 7-0. Now they will have to find ways to win without their head coach behind the bench.
