This afternoon former NHL player and current analyst Frankie Corrado made a bold prediction regarding the future of Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are once again trying to load up this season to make a run at another Stanley Cup with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. The most recent move that GM Kyle Dubas made to improve the roster was trading for the Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty.
After all of these moves, there are a ton of differing opinions about the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Former Toronto Maple Leaf and current analyst Frankie Corrado seems to have the most bold opinion so far.

Frankie Corrado shares his opinion on the Pittsburgh Penguins future

In a new segment on TSN analyst Frankie Corrado spoke about the Pittsburgh Penguins. He first acknowledged the struggles that the Penguins have had over the past couple of seasons. He then made the bold take that the Penguins will be back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
But I find it hard to believe that in "now or never" mode, we are not going to see Sidney Crosby playing in the playoffs as a member of the Penguins. And this year specifically, the Metro is a little more wide open.

With the Metropolitan Division being weaker this season Frankie Corrado believes the new-look Penguins roster built by Kyle Dubas can compete with teams like the Hurricanes and Capitals for a playoff spot.
Outside of the Rangers and the Devils, who have to take a significant step, the Islanders aren't overly exciting, Carolina might take a step back, and the Washington Capitals are trying to improve. You can put the Pittsburgh Penguins in that category of teams-clump them in there-and maybe they have a chance. Corrado explained.

The Penguins certainly have the top talent to make a run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Their stars need to step up and have resurgent seasons while staying healthy. On top of that, some of their new additions need to outperform expectations.
