David Ayres played one of the most memorable games in NHL history five years ago, and now he's been in the professional hockey arena.

Back in the 2019/20 NHL season, we saw many memorable moments and events that NHL fans will forever remember, but none were more deserving of those titles than the iconic David Ayres game. The then 42-year old came into the game as the Toronto Maple Leafs zamboni driver, but would make himself an immediate icon, as he took over as the goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes.
In that game, he would save eight of the 10 shots he saw on the night, leading the 'Canes to an improbably victory that would immediately make him one of the biggest names in the NHL that is still remembered to this day, especially by Maple Leafs fans.
Unsurprisingly, the team knew exactly how big the moment was, and when Ayres came back to the locker room, he was given a heroes welcome after a game that may be remembered forever in the lore and history of the NHL.
Now, the 47-year old is on his way back to professional hockey, as he has inked a one-year deal with the Richmond Hill Coyotes of the OSHL, bringing him back to professional hockey for the first time since that fateful night.

With the season just about to begin, the Richmond Hill Coyotes are confident they can contend for a title in the OSHL, and with the 47-year old now taking the net for the team, this will certainly bring plenty of attention to the team.
