After some lengthy negotiations, both sides stunningly struck a deal in the last 24 hours that seems to work out well. Domi managed to secure a four-year term instead of the widely projected two years, which nudged up the AAV. He's known for his offensive prowess on the second line, though his defensive stats haven't been great , ranking among the lower forwards in the league.
Domi had a busy season, playing 80 games in the regular season where he scored 47 points, finished with a plus-10 rating, and accumulated 118 penalty minutes. During the playoffs against the Boston Bruins, he contributed four points across all seven games. His ice time averaged 13:47 in the regular season but bumped up to 16:57 during the playoffs.
His faceoff success rate was 50% in the regular season, improving to an impressive 66.7% in the postseason, showing he thrives with more time on the ice.
