The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs have started their classic first-round matchup of the NHL playoffs this season, but unsurprisingly, not without foul play from the losing side.

On the first day of the 2024 NHL playoffs, Toronto was without their most prominent star players. This resulted in a massive blowout from Boston, with the Maple Leafs losing 5-1.
"THE BRUINS TOOK CARE OF THE LEAFS FOR A 1-0 SERIES LEAD 😤"
What could have been a loss treated with respect quickly devolved into a classless act, as one Maple Leafs player attempted to pull an unsavory tunt against the Bruins. According to Ty Anderson from the 98.5 Sports Hub, an unnamed member of the Toronto team reportedly attempted to skate away with the game puck.
"The Bruins win Game 1 by a 5-1 final and the Leafs are trying to skate off the ice with the game puck. Referees had to intervene."
This act would have ultimately prevented Boston from continuing the tradition of collecting the pucks from their winning playoff games. Luckily, the perpetrator was stopped before it was too late. That does not mean, however, that Bruins fans are letting this go.
The Bruins and Maple Leafs will play their second first-round game tomorrow evening. If Toronto wants a chance to even the playing field, they better hope the player who did this learned their lesson and will now focus more on the game and less on these childish pranks.
