Shocking trade proposal emerges to move Maple Leafs captain John Tavares

However, this isn't one that would come into the realm of possibility, as Tavares is headed towards free agency and would need to waive his NMC, and if Toronto were to part ways with their captain, it would likely need to be a big overpay.

With the 2024/25 season just two months away, these types of deals proposed may be a thing of the past, but if Toronto are looking for a shakeup, don't be surprised to hear more about a potential John Tavares trade.
