Alex Steeves has just been signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs to a one-year, two-way contract extension, which was just announced by the team.

This contract extension is only for one year and Alex Steeves will be able to go up and down between the NHL and the AHL as it is a two-way deal. When he is in the NHL, he will be paid the league minimum salary of 775k.
2021 was the first year that Alex Steeves was signed by the Maple Leafs after he finished playing in the NCAA with the University of Notre Dame. He has been spending time primarily with the AHL's Toronto Marlies over the last three seasons.
At the age of 24, Alex Steeves is still young and can prove to be a solid depth player when called upon. In his 65 games with the Marlies last season, Steeves scored 27 goals and had 57 points. He only got called up for one game with the Leafs last season, and overall in his NHL career has seven games to his name, having recorded just one assist.
