Today the Vancouver Canucks released a statement from forward Dakota Joshua where he revealed sad news that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In a post on X, the Vancouver Canucks released a written statement from Dakota Joshua that confirmed he recently had surgery to remove a tumor. According to his statement, the surgery will keep him out for the beginning of training camp as his doctors evaluate the next steps.
Since the announcement was made insiders like Chris Johnston have come forward with messages of support. In addition, Vancouver Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal also sent well wishes.
The Vancouver Canucks are set to open their regular season on October 9th. With Dakota Joshua on the mend hopefully, he can make a full recovery in time to make his debut with his teammates against the Flames.
As Dakota Joshua continues to heal and receive treatment we wish him all the best and hope to see him back on the ice with the Vancouver Canucks in the near future.
