Kelly McCrimmon fires back at Jonathan Marchessault controversial remarks

Vegas Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon has fired back after Jonathan Marchessault claimed the team didn't try their best to keep him from leaving in NHL free agency.
Marchessault to @TSN_Sports on leaving Vegas- "The tough part is there wasn't really a decent offer on the table. I don't think they tried their best to keep me, but that's part of the business and they probably have other plans. That's the business we're in so you move on.
The Predators made waves in free agency by signing big names, Steven Stamkos, Marchessault, and Brady Skjei. While Marchessault is excited about his new home, he shared in an interview that he felt Vegas didn't make a solid effort to retain him. McCrimmon, however, strongly denies this.
McCrimmon says "this couldn't be further from the truth" and he "disagrees" with it. Chalked it up to Marchessault being a fiery guy.
The forward signed a five-year deal with Nashville worth an average annual value of $5.5 million, claimed Vegas never put a good offer on the table.
McCrimmon says Marchessault was the only one of their own free agents the Golden Knights spoke to following the season.

Marchessault spent seven years as an original Golden Knight and helped them win their maiden Stanley Cup in 2023, by taking home the Conn Smythe trophy as the most valuable player in the postseason with 25 points in 22 games.
