A former Winnipeg Jet has left the NHL to play in the KHL in Russia.

Svechnikov Signs In Russia

It was recently announced that Evgeny Svechnikov has signed a two-year deal with AK Bars Kazan of the KHL.
Svechnikov, brother of Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov, was originally selected 19th overall in the 2015 NHL draft but has struggled to adjust to the NHL.
He has played for three different teams, the Red Wings, Jets, and Sharks, and has amassed 172 games in his six seasons in the NHL.
He had 8 goals and 14 points with the Sharks this past year.
When he played for the Jets in 2021-22. he had 7 goals and 19 points in 72 games.
He will look for a fresh start back in his native country of Russia and will look to establish himself as a top player.
