Barlow was the 18th pick in the most recent NHL Entry Draft. In his draft year, Barlow played with the Owen Sound Attack where he suited up for 59 games and had 79 points including 46 goals.
Barlow was thought to be one of the more mature players coming out of this draft. He brings a high hockey IQ and a fantastic shot. With him being signed this likely means he will see preseason action with the Jets throughout the next couple of weeks.
If Barlow is able to show he can do well at the NHL level he could earn himself a 9-game trial at the NHL level to start the season.
