Pierre-Luc Dubois Reaches An All-Time Low Since Being Traded To The Kings
A new all-time low has been hit for Los Angeles Kings forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. This rock bottom comes less than a year after coming to Los Angeles.
Dubois Traded To Los Angeles After Refusing An Extension
This offseason was filled with chaos for the Winnipeg Jets. There were questions if they were going to rebuild or continue trying to compete. Many of these questions came as a result of the uncertainty of the future for Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Dubois and the Jets could not reach a contract extension. This ultimately led him to be traded to the Los Angeles Kings.
In return for Dubois the Winnipeg Jets got a trio of young forwards and a draft pick in 2024. Since the trade both teams have been able to see the early return results and they are shocking.
Dubois Hits A New All-Time Low In Los Angeles
Since being traded to the Los Angeles Kings things have not gone well for Pierre-Luc Dubois. In 36 games this season he has just 16 points and is on pace for the lowest point per game pace of his career. Tonight things have gotten even worse as Dubois has found himself demoted to the fourth line.
Not to panic anyone, but Lizotte looks to be LAK 3C, Dubois 4C to start game.
On the other hand, the Jets were able to reel in Gabriel Vilardi who has 17 points in 21 games, Rasmus Kupari who has played 15 games in the NHL this season, and Alex Iafallo who has essentially the same stat line as Dubois this season.
The Jets came out of the trade with multiple players at the same level as Dubois for less salary cap space overall. This trade could go down as a masterclass in taking advantage of a player's peak value for better younger assets.
