A new report has revealed the top five trade targets that could make the biggest impact during a Winnipeg Jets Stanley Cup run.

Winnipeg Jets Top Needs Become Clear As Trade Deadline Approaches

The NHL Trade Deadline is coming fast which means teams are beginning to figure out which areas of their team need the most improvement. For the Winnipeg Jets, two main positions have been identified.
The first is a second-line center to go behind Mark Scheifele. The Jets tend to have a tradition at the trade deadline of trading for a middle-six center. This seems to be a tradition that will continue this season if the Jets hope to be serious contenders.
The other position many are hoping for is an upgraded top-four defenseman. The Jets defensive group is solid but could benefit from more depth and one more high-end player.
With these needs in mind, five players have been identified as the most crucial players for the Winnipeg Jets to try and acquire.

Jets Top Five Trade Targets Have Emerged

A recent report from Murat Ates of The Athletic has linked five players expected to be available at the Trade Deadline to the Winnipeg Jets.

The first player linked with the Jets is Calgary Flames star center Elias Lindholm. Lindholm is likely to be one of the best players traded before the deadline. In previous years he has been a legit number-one center but recently taken a bit of a step back. With his pedigree for success, he will likely be the most expensive player to trade for on this list but would bring the biggest boost.'

Next up is a former Calgary Flame and current Montreal Canadien Sean Monahan. Monahan is having a career resurgence in Montreal. After being shipped out of Calgary Monahan had struggled to live up to his former elite stats. However, this season he is back on track and expected to fetch a first-round pick in a potential trade.

The final forward option is Anaheim Ducks veteran Adam Henrique. Henrique wouldn't be quite the upgrade that the other players mentioned are. He would more than likely be a third-line center for the Jets. With that being said he would be cheaper to trade for opening the Jets up to go after multiple needs.

The fourth player mentioned is defenseman Chris Tanev. Tanev comes from the struggling Calgary Flames which have been mentioned before. He has been a hot name on the trade market. He would likely take a significant trade package to land but would be a huge upgrade to the Jets' defensive unit.

The final player on the list is Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Sean Walker. Walker has broken out over the last couple of seasons and shown flashes of high-end play. He is currently in the last year of his deal on a Flyers team in the playoff race. If the Jets were to be in on Walker it would again take quite a large trade offer to bring him to Winnipeg.
Regardless of which move they make the Jets will be looking to take their roster from competitive to championship caliber at the Trade Deadline. Once the offseason hits it will be interesting to see if they make the correct move or regret their decisions.
