Winnipeg Jets winger Tyler Toffoli addressed the media about their upcoming game against the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night. The New Jet was rather blunt about how he feels about his old team.
Toffoli Addresses Playing Against The New Jersey Devils
"It's not going to be too emotional in that regard. But it's definitely one of those things where you want to prove something. You always want to be part of a solution anywhere you go, and that's definitely something I'm going to be looking forward to."
Toffoli had 26 goals and 44 points in 61 games with the Devils this year before he was traded. He was an easy trade target after the Devils poor coaching and goaltending ruined their chances at making the playoffs. The team would fire head coach Lindy Ruff but it was too little to late for the Devils.
Toffoli Off To Hot Start With Winnipeg Jets
Since joining the Jets, Toffoli has been everything as advertised and more. He has quickly fit in to the team's system, recording four goals and six points in just five games since the trade.
Jets assistant coach Scott Arniel had some nice things to say about the center after the team's latest victory against the Rangers. He lauded Toffoli's playoff experience as something the Jets needed in the locker room.
"Veteran player. You play that many games, win a Stanley Cup (his rookie year with the Kings), you're going through experiences that other guys haven't."
