They may be former teammates, but Jonah Gadjovich and Zack MacEwen decided to drop the gloves last night. That was after holding a discussion about it in warmups.

With the Florida Panthers hosting the Ottawa Senators in Miami, Florida's Jonah Gadjovich and the Sens Zack MacEwen met at centre ice during the warmups to discuss dropping the gloves the first chance they got. They certainly didn't disappoint. The two were teammates with the Vancouver Canucks in the 2020-21 season, but they didn't let that get in the way of a good scrap, which ended when MacEwen went down to the ice.
"Quick heavyweight fight with Jonah Gadjovich dropping Zack MacEwen."
There were some Senators fans on social media that felt Gadjovich got the upper hand by swinging way too early and catching MacEwen off guard.
"For a scrap they obviously had planned before the game, I thought Gadjovich could have done a better job to let MacEwen get set. He came in swinging. #GoSensGo"
"Right? Where was the #Instigator call?? He blind sided 17 with no gloves on."
Jonah Gadjovich took the win in the fight, and the Florida Panthers took the win in the game, blanking the Ottawa Senators 2-0. Florida remains firmly in second place in the Atlantic Division and will likely face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Ottawa Senators have been eliminated from playoff contention with four games left in the regular season. The Sens will try to pick up the pieces and fight for a post season spot again in 2024-25.
