Igor Shestekerin made his presence on the ice known after getting back at Sidney Crosby during last night's game between the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Penguins have struggled to keep up with the playoff race, with the path getting thinner and thinner. However, a slim chance seemed to get better as Pittsburgh was ahead of one of the top teams in the league towards the end of the game.
At this point, Sidney Crosby was following the puck alongside 28-year-old Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin before chopping him at the side. Shesterkin did not take this lightly, as he forced Crosby to the wall before turning around and shoving him.
"Shesterkin taking a little shot at Crosby 👀"
the Penguins took the game, ending the Rangers winning streak. Sidney Crosby later discussed this heated moment an a post-game interview with NHL host and analyst Jonny Lazarus,
"I think he's just trying to get himself in the game, obviously we had the lead, and he didn't see a lot of shots in the 2nd, we didn't get a lot. I think he was trying to create a little emotion. I've had a few run-ins with goalies in this building before, so I've tried to learn from that a little bit and just try to worry about playing. But we were just competing out there and I don't think there's anything to that. You know that's one that usually doesn't happen, but you know, that's part of the game."
Though Pittsburgh fans and players have been frustrated this season, this victory against the top team in the league is massive. This could be one more unexpected step to the playoffs.
