This Doctor just revealed the real injury that Carey Price was suffering from that ended his career.

Price's Knee Was Worse Than Expected During Surgery on Meniscus

The Montreal Canadiens team doctor, Dr. David Mulder, was recently honoured for his service to the Canadiens in a heartwarming retirement ceremony. After, he revealed some more information on Carey Price's knee injury and the real reason that he was forced to retire.
«It was very frustrating for us and doubly so for him,» he began at a press conference. We realized he had two injuries,» he explained, adding that it was during an operation to correct the first that the second was discovered.

«He had a meniscus injury so we sent him to New York for an operation and during it the surgeon found that the femur had lost all of its cartilage. It was a surprise and that's what ended his career.»
Price has not yet formally retired from the NHL, but it is well-known that he will not play again due to his knee injury, as even he admitted he was done 'barring a miracle'. Price is still active around the Canadiens organization.

Price Continuing to Rehab Knee for Quality of Life
