The city of Chicago doesn't appear to be interested in supporting the MLB's White Sox, as they have just set a new all-time low in attendance with 17 fans.

Chicago often claims to have the most dedicated, voracious sports fans who stand by their teams through thick and thin. The Chicago Blackhawks have packed the United Center for years, even during years when the team was underperforming. Similarly, the Chicago Bears struggle perennially but command a wildly devoted crowd every week.
The Chicago White Sox tell a whole different story. This season, the team is on an abysmal run, sitting at a record of 31-106. As the losses mount, the supporters have become scarce. A recent game against the Texas Rangers was filled, or, more accurately, very empty, with only 17 reportedly in attendance, though photos suggested that figure might have been a little higher. It appears the figure of 17 was regarding actual paid tickets and not those who received them through free giveaways.
The underperformance of the team and what many feel is neglect by the ownership have sounded a silent bell among the fan base. In this growing disgruntlement, their sentiments have changed to calling for owner Jerry Reinsdorf to sell the team.
All in all, the White Sox season has been a little short of a disaster, and the disappointment is now yielding to anger. If things do not get better soon, there could be serious repercussions to the struggles of the team on the field as well as with ownership, even to the point of possible intervention by Major League Baseball where the team could face relocation.
