This summer has been a wild one for the NHL, with the story of Jeff Marek just one of many, but now his former partner Elliotte Friedman has addressed his firing.

This past week, Sportsnet officially announced the replacement for Jeff Marek on the 32 Thoughts podcast, and fans certainly reacted in very different ways to the introduction of Bukauskas.
Now, the duo have officially done their first show together, and quickly, Friedman addressed the elephant in the room, opening up and talking about his former partner before the show got underway.
«We were going to do this for 2000 years we were going to outlive everyone.»

«My belief has always been, it's Jeff Marek's story to speak about first and that's the way I'm going to leave it. When Jeff talks, some day after that, I will talk. Jeff is a great broadcaster, he brought out the best in me in this podcast and he's a huge reason why it's got to where it is. I will miss his stupid weird ideas, and I will miss working with him,» Friedman added. «As great as he is a broadcaster, he's an even better person I believe Jeff will land on his feet. I look forward to seeing what the next chapter in his life is.»

Unsurprisingly, Friedman was supportive of his former partner as a friend and as a co-host on the show, and while he didn't go into the story, it was something that needed to be addressed.
Marek has hinted since his Sportsnet departure that he will one day open up on the story behind his firing, but for now, 32 Thoughts is back ahead of what is shaping up to be an incredible regular season as we wait to hear the details on Marek's story from the man himself.
