Hockey equipment prices set to skyrocket following sale of CCM

Sports journalist Rick Westhead has provided an update on X, revealing that the private equity firm that is currently in possession of CCM is in the advanced stages of completing the sale of the well-known hockey equipment company. According to the report, the transaction is imminent, with the details of the sale to be revealed at any moment.

The upcoming sale is projected to set a new all-time high for the company, with an estimated value exceeding $570 million. This figure is anticipated to be over eight times the company's earnings before interest and taxes.

Birch Hill Equity Partners acquired CCM for $110 million seven years ago from the iconic sportswear brand Adidas. Since then, CCM has rapidly become a major player in the global hockey equipment market, achieving a huge revenue increase of more than double and reaching never-before-seen levels of profitability.

Well-known financial experts predict that the owners of Bauer Hockey and True Hockey may follow in CCM's footsteps and consider selling their companies before the year ends, thanks in large part to CCM's successful sale and the potential for substantial financial profitability.

The recent acquisition of CCM is causing concern among hockey enthusiasts globally, particularly those who are active players and rely on the brand's equipment. With new ownership in place, there are fears that the prices of all CCM products will experience a major hike.
