NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has just revealed the news on social media X that top prospect forward of the Winnipeg Jets Rutger McGroarty is going to be traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
There are still no details as to what the return package will be as the trade hasn't been officially posted yet.
Rutger McGroarty was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft with the 14th overall pick. He has never played an NHL game in his career, which is the reason he recently requested a trade over the summer, as he wanted to be with a team who was going to give him more playing time the NHL. It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins will be that team.
