Sportsnet's hockey coverage has been top notch in recent years, but now it appears as though they may be losing one of their top names.

Jeff Marek has been a fantastic member of the Sportsnet cast for a number of years, and alongside Elliotte Friedman, he's a key part of arguably hockey's best podcast, 32 Thoughts. Now however, it appears he has parted ways with the company, as a recent report has emerged to explain that his recent absence will be the end of his time with Sportsnet.
Details are scarce but multiple sources tell me that for unconfirmed draft reasons, Jeff Marek will likely be no longer performing duties at Sportnet hockey. Details to follow. This would appear to include his podcast duties too.
As mentioned, it's unclear what happened behind the scenes, but Marek hasn't been seen or heard from on hockey broadcasts since the 2024 NHL Draft, and it's now expected to be a permanent change. Given the incredible work he's done on and off the screen, it's no surprise that there's been plenty of support on social media for Marek.
We will update with any further details when they become available, but for now we hope everything is okay and that we will see Marek once again talking hockey in the near future.
