A scary scene developed in Baltimore today as the Ravens game was delayed after a chain gang crewmember collapsed on the sideline.

The Ravens were hosting the Las Vegas Raiders when the contest took an injury timeout, but it was not for one of the players. Rather, a member of the chain gang crew collapsed on the sideline and was immediately given medical attention by professionals stationed nearby. As with any serious medical situation that occurs during a football game, the players from both teams elected to take a knee in respect for the official.
The Ravens quickly posted to their X account detailing what had happened and giving an update on the official's condition. Luckily, it appears as though he will make a recovery as he was responsive on his way to the hospital. Hopefully, the hospital visit is just precautionary and this individual is not suffering from anything serious. With any luck, this was just a case of dehydration or something similar.
Fans were quick to share their thoughts with the chain gang crew member, wishing him a full recovery. No one ever wants to see anyone get hurt or suffer a medical emergency at any sporting event, but chain gang crew are perhaps the most popular officials in sports among the fanbase, so it is not surprising to see this level of response from fans.
HockeyOTB would like to send our thoughts to this official and we wish them a full and speedy recovery. We hope to see them back on the field soon.
