A trip to a cottage over the weekend quickly turned to horror as a fire broke out and k**led one hockey player, while badly injuring three others.
The fun sadly came to an end as the RCMP broke the news of a cottage fire that k*lled Noah Latimer of the Cole Harbour Colts in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League, as well as injuring three other teammates of his.
"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.
The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."
Latimer used to play for the Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Hockey League, and they confirmed that all four involved used to play for their team.
We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.
Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts. ❤️🖤
Noah was a Halifax boy, born and raised there, as well as playing most of his hockey throughout Nova Scotia. He played in the NSJHL and the MHL. Sincerest condolences go out to all of Noah's family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
