Jaromr Jágr has suffered a torn hamstring, sidelining him for six weeks right before the start of his season.

Jágr has not played in the NHL for several years, but has still continued to play sporadically for the team he co-owns in Czechia, the Kladno Knights. Unfortunately for Jágr, he suffered an injury while training, and could miss up to six weeks of action.

Jágr had expressed his desire to play in most, if not all of his teams games this year, but his injury situation may force him out of action for the beginning of the season. According to Jágr, he spoke with a physiotherapist who said his injury will keep him out for 3-6 weeks, making his earliest possible return September 8th, and his latest on September 29th, which would be after Kladno's opening game on September 18th.
When I talked to the physiotherapist Pavel Kolář about the fact that I would like to properly train, he warned me not to do anything that my body is not used to.

Of course, I didn't listen to him... I went for a run. Not the sprints I used to do uphill, but normally straight. But I put weights on my ankles and tore my hamstring.

That was about five days ago. Pavel said it would be three to six weeks. We'll see how it heals.

The worst part is that I'm mad at myself. I was preparing, I dropped a lot (of weight) and felt pretty good on the ice. Now it has stopped again, so I'll have to start from the beginning.

But I'm not one to screw it up when I've put so much into it. The very next day I went to do things that didn't hurt. However, skating is very important and I won't be on the ice for three to six weeks. Maybe it won't be that long, we'll see. When I walk, it doesn't hurt.

I'm curious what Pavel will say to me when we meet again.

Jágr played for many teams in the NHL, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, and Washington Capitals.
Many speculate this will be the 52 year olds last season playing professional hockey, so it would be a shame for injuries to keep him out for long periods of time. Here's hoping for a quick recovery!
