Brendan Gallagher is off to a surprisingly solid start this season, scoring four goals in 12 games. His great performance, coupled with his health a pleasant deviation from recent years is drawing attention.

The Right Time to Trade Gallagher Out of Montreal?

Remarkably, he's on track to reach 27 goals and 49 points over an 82-game season, which could rank as his third-highest career total. This is stirring speculation that it might be an good moment for a trade, given his enhanced value.
To facilitate such a move, the Canadiens might have to take on an unfavorable contract. Max Van Houtte shared a trade scenario on social media.
Proposed trade:
To Montreal (MTL): Jonathan Huberdeau.

To Calgary (CGY): Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson.

It raises an intriguing point. Huberdeau has the potential to be a top-tier player, but his recent performance and hefty contract extending to 2031 are concerning.

Huberdeau's Contract: The Worst in the Salary Cap Era?

Van Houtte's take is that Montreal might be hesitant:
MTL probably says no, I love Huby, but his contract looks like one of the worst of the salary cap era right now; it seems like wishful thinking that a simple change of team would fix it.

W have to agree here. Huberdeau's contract could become a real pain for the Canadiens, particularly if his form doesn't improve.
Do you think Huberdeau will be traded?
