Matthew Tkachuk was fresh off his first ever Stanley Cup win, and not only did he break a rule with the trophy, but he also bashed Calgary Flames fans.

Tkachuk celebrated with the Stanley Cup by taking it into the salted waters of the Atlantic Ocean. David Dwork of the Hockey News said that constituted a major NHL rule break.
"We had nobody with us to say, Matthew, don't be an idiot.'"

Matthew Tkachuk didn't know it was against the rules to take the Stanley Cup into the ocean. It also wasn't his idea, and he's making sure proper credit is given.
It doesn't appear that Bettman will be issuing any punishment to Tkachuk for this rule break. Seeing as he had just gotten away with this, Tkachuk likely felt like he could get away with more, and proceeded to absolutely rip into Calgary Flames fans on social media by posting on Instagram about his two year anniversary of being traded to beautiful South Beach, Florida.
On a side note . . . Today is a good day! I will remember July 22nd 2022 for the rest of my life!

Flames fans were likely stung by this post, especially when they look at the fact that their team signed Jonathan Huberdeau, the player they got in return for Tkachuk, to arguably the worst contract in the history of the Calgary Flames franchise.
2 years since the trade

The mistake wasn't trading for Huberdeau, because we all praised it at the time and basically it was getting a good player for a good player, both who came off 100+ points seasons. The mistake looking back, was extending Huberdeau too soon.

Following these latest heart breaking posts by Tkachuk and the realization that they are stuck with Huberdeau long-term, Flames fans probably wish that their arch rival Oilers had actually won the Cup, to have shoved it in Tkachuk's face.
