Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle officially tying the knot this weekend

It is not often that NHLers get hordes of publicity for non-hockey events. Yet some players are so dominating on the ice that fans cannot help but invest themselves in major events in their personal lives. Among these events are weddings, Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Jones garnered the eyes of the media in groves during their ceremony in 1988.

However, it seemed that just over a year ago, another engagement set the stage for possibly the largest media frenzy for an NHL player's wedding ever seen. This is, of course, between Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid and his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kyle, who got engaged in June of 2023.

After more than a year of waiting for the date, the couple is finally tying the knot this weekend. According to reports, McDavid and Kyle will hold their ceremony on July 27th at an undisclosed location on Muskoka Lake, Ontario.

Whether or not their location remains secured, this wedding will undoubtedly be a life-changing moment for Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle. With all going well, this is certain to be a ceremony they will cherish forever.
