The Chicago Blackhawks brought in some experienced players last summer to support Connor Bedard's growth. Following Corey Perry's departure and Taylor Hall's injury a few months back, Nick Foligno stepped up to mentor Bedard. Last night, a funny moment between the veteran and the rookie was caught on a hot mic.
Foligno Shares Hilarious Wisdom with Bedard Caught and Gets Caught on Hot Mic
Foligno had fans laughing with a bold statement he made to Bedard while they were on the bench.
There's so much to teach you I don't have enough contract time. I'm gonna have to stay in Chicago like five more years after I retire.
Considering that Foligno's contract will expire after the season, in 16 games, the Blackhawks' organization should start to consider extending his deal to make sure Bedard has veteran leaders to support him.
A five-point night for this rookie
Last night with the @NHLBlackhawks, Connor Bedard became the 5th 18-year-old in NHL history to achieve a 5-point game.
A blast from Bedard!
CONNOR BEDARD. FIVE POINTS.
Do you think Foligno will play with the Blackhawks next season?
