The Oilers have been forced to make some tough decisions this year as the start of their season has been a complete disaster.

Oilers Place Goalie Jack Campbell On Waivers

Today the team made one of those decisions when they placed veteran goaltender Jack Campbell on waivers.
As of this moment the team has not made a corresponding move so they are running with one goaltender. The team is expected to call up AHL goalie Calvin Pickard to be on the roster for their next game but it is unknown who will get the start against San Jose.

Philadelphia Flyers Willing To Take On Campbell?

One team that has been rumored to be interested in trading a goalie since the offseason is the Philadelphia Flyers. Reportedly, the team is looking to move on from Carter Hart and they are willing to take on a bad contract to make it happen. The Oilers would likely have to throw in several sweeteners though as Campbell is signed for three more seasons after this one at a 5 million dollar cap hit. Right now his deal is looking like one of the worst contracts in the league.
Hart is currently dealing with a minor injury but he has been good for the Flyers this season. He's started 8 games and earned a 4-3 record with a 2.52 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. Campbell on the other hand has a 1-4 record, a 4.50 goals-against-average and a .873 save percentage.
