The Edmonton Oilers were brought into the ESPY's spotlight for the wrong reasons. Comedian Nikki Glaser, known for her sharp roasts, took the stage and couldn't resist making a few jokes about Connor McDavid.
Nothing is going to stop these athletes in their quest for excellence except the Panthers. Connor, that's got to hurt: losing an ice hockey game to a place that doesn't have ice.
The camera then cut to McDavid's teammate, Evander Kane, who wasn't laughing with everyone else.
Oh and she wasn't done.
Boy, Connor, that must have hurt to lose a game of ice hockey to a place that doesn't even have ice. For now, the only Stanley Cup Connor will get to hold is the one his wife asked him to grab out of the cabinet.

The night wasn't a complete loss for McDavid, as he did win the best NHL player award, yet as he showed with the Conn Smythe trophy snub, all he wants is the Stanley Cup.
