Connor McDavid is a long-time standout player, often considered the best in the league. After tonight's game, he now has another milestone to add to his impressive NHL resume.

McDavid Reaches 100-Points For Fourth Consecutive Season

During tonight's game between Edmonton and Columbus, the Oilers were behind 0-3 near the start of the second period. However, after a period of unsuccessful attempts to get back in the game, McDavid was able to catch a clear path for an assist to teammate Zach Hyman.
"ZMH gets one back for the Oilers 🫡"
This earned him McDavid the last play he needed to reach the 100-point mark this season. This now makes for the fourth consecutive 100-point scoring season for the 27-year-old center.
"100 for 97!

Connor McDavid (@cmcdavid97) reaches the 100-point mark for the fourth season in a row. 🤯"

McDavid Joins Historic Elite Scoring Group In Tonight's Game

Aside from being the fourth season in a row of this level of production, McDavid also now has a total of seven seasons playing in the NHL in which he amassed this many points. This makes him only the sixth player in NHL history to do so.
"Another 100-point season for No. 97! 💯

Connor McDavid (@cmcdavid97) becomes just the sixth player in NHL history to reach the feat seven or more times! 👏"
He is tied now with Mike Bossy and Peter Stastny in their total number of 100+ point seasons, making him tied for fourth in this statistic. He is still far from reaching Wayne Gretzky's record of 15 seasons, but with likely many years left in his career, it will be interesting to see how close he can get to passing The Great One.
