Oilers superstar Connor McDavid's touching gesture goes viral

Earlier in the year, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid went viral for having a special heartwarming moment with the fans. A video had surfaced online originating from the month of March, where a young fan had to make a choice. The child had to choose either $1,000 in cash, or an Oilers jersey.

The child opted to take the cash in order to help his family, which quickly garnered the attention of McDavid and the rest of the Oilers. In a shocking twist, the entire team decided to invite the boy and his mom to an upcoming Oilers game, and the child was given an extra gift afterwards that further enhanced this memorable experience.

Not only did this young fan get $1,000 for his parents and tickets to a game, but he also got to meet McDavid after the game! This lucky fan was able to take pictures with the superstar player, and even got to visit the locker room. The memorable moment concluded with McDavid providing the child with an autograph.

The entire Oilers team is clearly invested in the community and has a strong bond with its fans. So many of these people's lives are impacted in such positive ways when the players step up like McDavid did. He definitely gained a lot more respect for his heartwarming actions.
