Wayne Gretzky summed it up perfectly after the Edmonton Oilers collapse against the Dallas Stars in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.

"Edmonton played like Bob Hope in the first period and no hope in the second period" 😅
He was right as Edmonton went from 2-0 lead after the first period to a 3-2 deficit within 3:33 in the second, which turned into a 5-3 defeat.
It was like watching a game of hot potato out there, with both teams taking turns dishing out punishment.
Yet, unfortunately for the Oilers, they went from feeling like they were on top of the world to staring down the barrel of defeat.
The late goal by Jason Robertson to complete his hat trick was the dagger.
Winning Game 3 can set the tone for the rest of the series, giving a team a crucial edge. In fact, when a best-of-seven series is tied 1-1, the team that comes out on top in Game 3 goes on to win the series 66% of the time. It jumps to 76% in Conference final series.
It was a big one for both teams but the Oilers blinked first in the third period. However, there's still plenty of hockey left to play, the Oilers will be coming out swinging in Game 4 to square the series.
