It's no surprise that the more money you make,
the more in taxes you have to pay. The problem is that not all taxes are equal, and some players with similar salaries are paying significantly more depending on where they're playing. Let's take
Victor Hedman and
Elias Pettersson for example. Hedman, who plays in the state of Florida, has no state income tax, which means he is only paying taxes to the U.S. Federal government. Pettersson, on the other hand, plays in British Columbia, and has to pay taxes to both the Canadian Federal government as well as the B.C. Provincial government.
