Top goalie prospect in the NHL has demanded a trade

It's not every day you hear of a top NHL goalie prospect demand to be traded, but unfortunately for the Nashville Predators, that's exactly what happened.
Following the Preds announcement that they had just signed their #1 goalie to an eight-year, $62 million contract, everyone began to worry about how Yaroslav Askarov would be able to fit in to Nashville's future plans.
Askarov is only 22 years-old, and now that Saros appears to be locked up long-term, Askarov's path to the NHL has been blocked, so it appears he has requested to part ways, as he has only ever played three NHL games in his career.

A report coming out from Russia's SOV Sport states that Askarov's agent, Dan Milstein, has said it will be best that Nashville and Askarov part ways as there is no future for him there with Saros as their goalie. He also confirmed that the Predators have agreed with his opinion and have actively started shopping him around the league.
If there's one move I want Tom Fitzgerald to make before the start of the 2024-25 season, it's acquiring goaltender Jaroslav Askarov. Granted, he wouldn't get any time with us this year with our tandem of Markstrom/Allen but he can take over as our #1A in ~2.5 years. #NJDevils
Things are likely working themselves out behind the scenes as we speak, and a trade seems more and more likely to be announced prior to the start of training camp.
