Roster update: The #Sens have signed forward Josh Bailey to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Bailey has played 1,057 games throughout his 16-year career spent entirely with the Islanders. Bailey has always been more of a playmaker not having a single season over 20 goals despite scoring 50+ points in many seasons.
Last season, Bailey played 64 games last year posting 8 goals and 25 points. He will be a valuable veteran presence in the Senators' locker room assuming he makes the team.
Bailey was traded away from the Islanders this past offseason along with a 2nd round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks who promptly bought him out. A fresh start in Ottawa will allow him to take on a leadership role and mentor young players like Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk.
