The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers are bitter rivals in the Pacific Division. This rivalry has once again come about after a defenseman for the Canucks made ruthless comments about Connor McDavid.

Canucks Defenseman Takes A Ruthless Shot At McDavid

In an interview with Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov a question was asked about the best player in the NHL. Zadorov unlike many is not a fan of Connor McDavid's game and apparently does not see him as the best player in the league.
Nikita Zadorov calls Nathan Mackinnon «the best player in the world.»

Says he would take him over McDavid and Matthew because «he's a winner.»

#Canucks #Avalanche
While this is a surprising take from Zadorov it makes more sense when reminded that he and Nathan MacKinnon were teammates in Colorado earlier in his career.
"If I were to build a team I'd build it around him (Nathan MacKinnon) because he's a Stanley Cup winner."

Ahead of tonight's Canucks/Avalanche matchup, Nikita Zadorov had high praise for the league leader in points.
While McDavid has not won a Stanley Cup yet he and the Oilers continue in their pursuit of a deep playoff run. After a horrific start to the season the Oilers are back on track toward a playoff birth.

Oilers Continue Torrid Pace To Get Back Into The Playoff Race

The Edmonton Oilers had struggled so much to begin the season that they put Jack Campbell on waivers and fired head coach Jay Woodcroft.
Since then the team has gotten back on track and leapfrogged back into a playoff spot. This rebound is led by the excellent play of Connor McDavid who once again has eclipsed the 100 point mark.
100 for 97!

Connor McDavid reaches the 100-point mark for the fourth season in a row.
With the stretch run of the NHL season coming up the Oilers will need to continue their winning ways. They are just 4 points from being the last Wild Card team.
