Breaking: Washington Capitals Hire new President
Some major news has emerged from Washington in the last few minutes.
Caps Hire New President
The Capitals have officially promoted Brian MacLellan to president of hockey operations and GM.
They've also named Chris Patrick as the associate GM and Dick Patrick as chairman.
"The Washington Capitals have promoted Brian MacLellan to president of hockey operations & general manager, and Chris Patrick to associate general manager. In addition, the Capitals have appointed Dick Patrick to the position of chairman of the Capitals."
MacLellan has been with the organization for 22 years and has been GM for almost ten years.
Since he was named GM, the Caps have a 409-213-77 record, placing them in the third position for the most wins in the NHL.
