With news that Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele are staying in Winnipeg, Josh Morrisey shared his thoughts.

Excitement in Winnipeg

As reported in the Winnipeg Sun, Josh Morrisey is relieved that the Jets will be keeping two of their core players this year, after rumours the entire offseason that they will be traded.
"To have (Mark Scheifele) and (Connor Hellebuyck) back is massive," he said Thursday, according to the Winnipeg Sun's Paul Friesen. "Outside of this year, who knows? ... But to have them here and to have the mindset that we're here to do some damage this season is what it's all about."

Both player's contracts are up after this season, but it doesn't seem to bother their teammates. Morrisey is just excited to have them back for another year.

Winnipeg's Focus is Winning

With all the trades and rumours circulating this offseason, Morrisey shared his excitement about the team's direction.
"The organization made it clear to us ... they aren't going the route of acquiring draft picks," he said. "They made a statement in acquiring players that are really good and are going to help us try to win games right now. That message coming from the team was awesome."

If the Jets can come out to a hot start, it's more than likely that fans will see Scheifele and Hellebuyck in Winnipeg all season, acting as "owned rentals". However, if the season doesn't pan out, the trade deadline could be interesting for the Jets.
