Once again all eyes in the land of the Washington Capitals are on Alex Ovechkin and his pursuit of Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record. Ovi's sitting at 853 career goals, just 41 away from tying the great one's mark of 894.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, who's been spending some time playing in a KHL preseason tournament with SKA Saint Petersburg, was the latest to weigh in on whether Ovi could actually break the record this season.
When asked by Russian news outlet Izvestia, Kuznetsov gave a playful answer:
I think so, I hope so. So that he won't have to suffer through all the questions next year.

Kuznetsov's comment hits on a truth we all know-Ovi's constantly has to answer questions about the pursuit from fans and media alike.
Even Ovi's mom, Tatyana, has had enough of all the chatter.
Personally, I'm not interested in [talk about the goals record] at all.

It seems like everyone close to Ovi is hopping for him to get this done sooner rather than later.
Realistically, Ovi could break the record this season, but he'd need to hit his career average in goals per game and stay healthy all year-no small feat, but if anyone can do it, it's him.
As training camp kicks off in September, the questions are only going to ramp up. But Caps fans are supporting Ovi every step of the way as he chases down hockey history. Let's go, Ovi!
