Standing at number two in all-time career points with a staggering total of 1921, Jaromir Jagr is undoubtedly one of the best hockey players to grace the ice. Yet, this NHL and KHL legend's career has still left him wishing he had done something different in his earlier years playing the sport.
Before the ceremony in Pittsburgh today for his jersey's retirement, Jaromir Jagr made a comment that expressed how he did not like how he treated some of his fellow players during his time in the NHL. An absolute menace on the ice, Jagr was no stranger to aggression and was not afraid to call on the same level of competitiveness from his teammates. It appears now, he has since had a change of heart.
This shift of perspective may come as a shock for some fans, many of whom watched Jagr and other NHL games for this level of physicality. Yet, given his age and time out of the NHL and in his team the Klando Knights, it seems reasonable that he has had the time to soften his attitudes and focus his mindset on different strategies. Whether or not current players will take note of this belief remains in question, but there is little doubt that this former Penguin will be inducted into the Hall of Fame upon his official retirement.
