Vladimir Bure, the father of NHLers Pavel and Valeri Bure, has died at at the age of 73. He has his name on the Stanley Cup twice with the New Jersey Devils

Some sad news to pass along from the world of hockey. Vladimir Bure, the father of two well-known former NHLers in Pavel and Valeri, has passed away at the age of 73. Vladimir bure has a long list of his own accolades from over the years.
Vladimir Bure died on Tuesday at the age of 73 in Miami, where he has had a home for several years. While an exact cause of death wasn't given, Vladimir Bure had suffered a heart attack in recent weeks, as well as recovering from a stroke in 2017.
Vladimir Bure was an Olympic swimmer, winning a bronze medal at the 1968 Olympics, as well as a silver and another two bronze medals in 1972. In later years, he served as a strength and conditioning coach for the New Jersey Devils, and was with the team for two Stanley Cups, which came in 2000 and 2003.
Pavel Bure, affectionately known as the "Russian Rocket" is a Hockey Hall of Famer, a seven-time NHL All-Star, and a two-time Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy winner as the NHL's best scorer. Valeri Bure, who is married to actress Candace Cameron, spent 10 seasons in the NHL, and played in the league's All-Star game in 2000.
Our sincere condolences go out to the Bure family on the death of Vladimir Bure. In addition to his Olympic medals, Vladimir Bure was also a seven-time European Championship medalist, and a two-time World Championship medalist. His commitment to both swimming and hockey won't soon be forgotten.
