Kyle Dubas didn't get what he expected from Erik Karlsson's trade. Karlsson, who won the Norris Trophy last season, was supposed to be the different-maker to push the Penguins into the playoffs again, but that didn't happen.

With Jake Guentzel gone at the trade deadline, it looks like Dubas is thinking about more big moves. While there's been a lot of rumors around Sidney Crosby, it's now Erik Karlsson's turn to be a part of those discussions.

Erik Karlsson Linked to Ottawa Senators By Elliotte Friedman

Karlsson, who played for the Senators from 2009 to 2018, has a no-trade clause and earns $11,500,000 a year. It won't be easy to move him. If one team has chances of convincing him to join them, it could be Ottawa; where it all started for him. With Daniel Alfredsson, his friend and former teammate, back around the organization, he could convince Karlsson to come back.
Check out Elliotte Friedman's full declaration:
"Friedman on Erik Karlsson (32TP): "It's not going to be an easy one to move, it definitely isn't...I'll say this, there is going to be a lot of focus on Ottawa, if there's one team that you would think would consider it, it would be them with Daniel Alfredsson there"

Cont'd: "If it's not Ottawa, and don't forget, Karlsson has a lot of control here, it's hard to see where it makes sense. I think the Sens are going to be a really, really busy team in the offseason, I think they had a lot of conversations that will get punted into the summer"
If Karlsson ends up traded, it'll be for an impressive return. The Senators have multiple assets that they could part with. Do you think Kyle Dubas should trade Erik Karlsson?
