The Los Angeles Kings have been making some intriguing moves this off-season, and now they've landed Caleb Jones, a former Edmonton Oilers blue liner.

After another defeat to the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings are seemingly shaking things up this summer, and now they've added a familiar face. Over the weekend, they inked former Edmonton Oilers defenseman Caleb Jones to a one-year, two-way deal as he is set to be solid depth and experience for a team desperately needing it.
We've signed defenseman Caleb Jones to a one-year, two-way contract.
The 27-year old was drafted by the Oilers back in the 2015 NHL Draft in the fourth round, and after playing with the team until 2021, he's bounced around the NHL since, seeing playing time in both the NHL and the AHL. Last season, Jones played 25 games for the Colorado Avalanche, netting five assists over that time, and now he'll join a team where he will have the opportunity to earn some significant playing time.
It's unclear what the Kings plan is moving forward, as their core of Kevin Fiala, Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe are all ageing, but with plenty of teams gearing up in the Western Conference, we will see if this move can help them compete in the 2024/25 season.
