Alex Ovechkin asks for the Capitals new GM to trade for Crosby

Brian MacLellan was busy making moves and signing players for the Washington Capitals since free agency opened, acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois and Andrew Mangiapane, to name a few. Ovechkin didn't seem too happy with those signings as he sent a thumbs up emoji to his GM sarcastically. He has now revealed to everyone that what he really thinks his GM should do is sign Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid.

Ovechkin is no stranger to Crosby, as they've played against each other for almost 20 years now. It's no secret that Ovi is chasing Wayne Gretzky's goal record and would love the help of two superstar players such as McDavid and Crosby to get him to that record.

Wayne Gretzky's goal record isn't the only reason Ovechkin wants these two superstars on his team, as he is also trying to avoid another first round sweep like what the Capitals just suffered against the Rangers this past season. No doubt having these two join his club would instantly make the Capitals Stanley Cup favourites.
