Alex Ovechkin jokingly expressed excitement of the Washington Capitals' offseason trades and signings by sending a thumbs up emoji.

GM of the Capitals Brian MacLellan was busy shifting his roster over the last week or so, adding 7 players in order to help retool the team around Ovechkin. While many would think Ovi's response of sending a thumbs up emoji sealed his approval, it was quite the opposite.
When asked by @Tarik_ElBashir what input Alex Ovechkin has had on the
@Capitals offseason moves, general manager Brian MacLellan said Ovi sent over a thumbs up emoji.
The New York Rangers easily disposed of the Caps in the first round of the playoffs, with a clean 4 game sweep. This is no laughing matter to Capitals fans, as they are hoping to avoid such a scenario again. It is never a good thing when the face of your franchise stays silent all summer long, and then reappears by sending a simple thumbs up emoji.
MacLellan said Ovechkin texted him a 👍 after the Dubois trade 😂
While it may seem funny at first, there is a deeper meaning behind all of this. Ovechkin was clearly frustrated by not having won a single game in the playoffs recently, and clearly isn't all that impressed with the moves that his GM has made. If the Capitals fail to improve from last season, MacLellan may not be in such a good mood anymore over Ovi's text.
